Street Team

This has been quite an adventure advertising and not getting much response. Well, I reposted on the UMBC "spot light" again and sent them a link to Melanie's blog. I am learning in order to get your self heard, it is important to put your self out there. This time I expanded the "Spot Light" to the event page as well. Hope fully more people will see it this time around. The event is supposed to be shown five day after I posted it. Anyhow, I haven't got any emails yet from the first post. Hopefully this second one more people will see it. In addition, this Saturday if it doesnt' rain Alex, Missy, Hillman and I are supposed to go to Brooklyn and begin introducing ourselves to the various people in the community. This will be our first trip just for them to have a heads up about what we are about and about the event. I hope that many people will want to come and believe that we are trying to serve a good purpose. We will be giving some them information, but not the actual flyers until the second go round.

More Advertising

Well all, we have been working really hard together to make this event a big success. Last week I was able to give the coordinator of student activities our information about the event. She said that she would see what she can do. I also put our event on spot light on the front of the UMBC page. It won't be up until some time this week. I will continue to check with people this following week. Other people such as Lauren and Alex are letting their serorities know about the event. I was going to let them know but they have already taken care of it.As more gets accomplished more advertising will be able to happen. I have worked on the "yes or no" questionaire for the street team. Here is a preview of some of the questions:

1. Do you like living in Brooklyn?
2. Do you feel like this community needs a new start?
3. Does a lot of crime occur on a regular basis?
4. Have you visited Club 4100?
5. Would you continue to live here if things progress well?
6. Would you continue to come to club 4100 after a successful event?
7. Do you enjoy the positive aspects of the community?
8. Do you feel like the meaning of place needs to be restored?
9. Would you come to the event and bring people together?
10. Will you tell your friends about the importance of the event?

More Ideas for advertisment

We have a lot of work to do on the advertisment team. I will find a creative way to spread the word about the event within the UMBC Commmunity. I would like to create flyers to help generate interest. The flyers/invites will be a a color that will grab peoples attention. Additionally, I will send them out to sororities and other organizations as well. This comming week I will brain storm ideas of either a logo or a slogan. It will be important to really think outside of the box because we want a good turn out. I was thinking that I could get some ideas from different wesbites that may have a variety of designs to get an idea for the a logo or slogan. I also feel like when we go door to door most of the flyers should be completed and should want people to come and see what the event is all about.

Now apart of the Advertisment/ Marketing

I am very excited about being able to do this project with preserving the sense of place of Club 4100. At first I really didn't know what to expect but after learning more about the history, I became more intuned. I am especially thrilled being able to help the Brooklyn community reconnect to the hot spot in the neighborhood. It is a shame that the neighborhood has gone down hill in the past years. Hopefully with promoting our community event will bring people out. It would seem that the young people would learn more and what to take better care of their community. With switching from the Event Planning to the Advertisment Group I feel like I will of better use there. I am really a creative person when it comes to artistic skills. I am looking forward to the street adverstising because, meeting some of the people in the neighborhood will be esstential to our event. I will help with posters, t-shirts, flyers, the facebook site and help designing all of them. Since, I am just getting into the group I will have to dive in and be a team player.
