Street Team Today!

Street Team today was a great success! I am so proud of everyone's time today and effort. That is what team work is all about. When my group first went to the first house all three of us were nervous. It is threatening to go up to a stranger's door. I being the leader went to the first house located off of Crest Hill street. I started off using the scrpit , but as time went on I improvised and it became easier. I remember Missy was scared to go into the houses with fences , but I assured here it was fine. She was so cute, and she actually did the next house. We alternated and Lauren helped as well. This experience really took us out of our comfort zone. Anyhow, we talked with many neighbors some took flyers and said that they were interested and a small amount didn't. Those that were not home we put flyers in mail boxes. Occassionally, we would see people outside in their yard , so it made it easier. The first person that seemed really interested was a middle aged male and we took his picture! He looked happy to know that we were doing this event and helping the community of Brooklyn. I felt like were really doing something fulfilling today. As time went on we walked down about three more streets at this time and stopped at "Charlie's Sub and Pizza shop". The lady there was very friendly and invited us to hang our flyer on the front door. I was surprised , but just goes to show that you can't prejudge others. I was so thrilled, but little did I know that an incident happened previously before entering the place. I heard that a rude woman called us b*****and something else. So we tried to leave the general area quickly. That was interesting..... Another cool thing happened we met a woman that actually works at the club and she wants to bring her whole family. She had I believe three little girls. We took their picture and they were excited. The family seemed very pleasant and were pleased to see that we were helping their community. I just remember they had this big dog that kept smelling all up my crotch! I was like lady please get your dog!Additionally, we went down I believe two more streets because at this time it was getting close to head back. On one of the houses on the way back I remember there was this old man who was so sweet, he said while shaking his head," I am so sorry I don't get out that much and don't go places."He was cute and I felt sorry for him. After leaving his house,I put flyers on people's cars and my group members were all paraniod at first , but I was like, "what ever". I liked my group we accomplished a lot! I think all together we covered five or six streets. Even though we didn't sell tickets we had a lot of interested people. I am proud of ourselves!
